Hobbies to help boost your creativity
I believe creative hobbies are important for many reasons:
– they are a way of expressing yourself
– they are relaxing, interesting and fun
– something new to do, a break from work/school
I have always been more on the creative side of things in general; I’d pick English over Maths any day. Here are a few of my hobbies, which may inspire you too.

Painting
When I was tidying my room a few weeks ago (a very rare occurrence) I discovered my old watercolour paints. I decided to try them out again and immediately fell back in love with painting – I like experimenting with different colours and it’s so relaxing to just sit and paint.
Drawing
I’ve always been an avid doodler – in all of my lessons throughout school (especially maths) I would sit and doodle. I love drawing cartoons especially, because I’m not great at drawing life-like people or things.
Crocheting
My friend Gina is a crocheting QUEEN, and although I found it difficult at first, it’s so therapeutic and fun once you get the hang of it. I’m not yet able to make toys, but that is my end goal and at the moment I’m enjoying making little squares. When I’m crocheting I always lose track of time and end up in my own world. This hobby is great for working on perseverance and focus.
Guitar
I used to have guitar lessons weekly but unfortunately had to stop due to exams. Despite this, I still have an acoustic and electric guitar and it’s nice to learn new songs or to simple strum a few chords.
Scrap-booking
I adore my scrapbook that I started around Christmas; it’s so precious to me and stores many valuable memories, plus it’s fun to do. I use my HP Sprocket Printer for the photos, which is useful because you can stick them in too. You don’t need a special printer though, there are plenty of places you can get photos printed such as Boots or the app FreePrints. I also have a large variety of stickers and glitter pens to make it interesting.
Photography
The best thing about photography is that you can make each picture your own. There are so many things to consider; lighting, angles, filters, accessories. The end result of a photo is often rewarding.
